Bummer.

So..... this happened... (I included some images of me to demonstrate the roller coaster of emotions.)

I thought I was gonna sell my stupid, old dvd tower, but instead I was getting scammed.

Xmas.

Well, I've been sick the past day and a half, hence no post yesterday, so today I bring you: my Christmas! *Rahhhhh* Yep special Tuesday Making-up-for-lack-of-scheduled-posts Post! And here comes a bunch of photos!

Since I had to work early Xmas day, we did presents Xmas eve. Look at all the yummy (and some less edible) stuff that was in my stocking!

Also in my stocking were these books which reflect Mom's "let me tell you what I really think of your life" portion of the night. Photos courtesy of Amazon since I already returned them for store credit at B&N. No way was I going to read these. Sighhhhhhhhhhh.

Under the tree were:
A wireless mouse my dad decided I needed because I was using my wired one in front of them. In actuality, I barely use one and the wired one is fine but whatever. I don't know why it's uploading sideways so lets pretend it was intentional or something.

Dad's "let me tell you what I really think of your life" portion of the night. I probably won't read this either but it's slightly less embarrassing to have in my possession.

And finally, the high point and creator of these photos:
I couldn't take a photo of the camera with the camera so that's the box.

Then I got sick on Monday which was uber crappy cause I work hourly and part-time so I had to call out and lose out on 8 hours of work. Not to mention the being sick part. I don't want to personally elaborate and gross you out so here is DailyGrace being right on the money.

Except I didn't try to drink coffee or JD. I did try to drink some hot chocolate which didn't work out. I also found that lying on the floor helped during the needing-to-be-near-the-toilet phases of my sickness.

I hope your Xmases were as present-filled but less vomity than mine! Byeeee

A Challenge

I was challenged to a, well, challenge, by dadtolibbs.com and while I don't usually participate in meme stuff at all I felt compelled to do this one cause I was one of two to be challenged. I however, will not pass it along cause it's not my style. Remember those chain emails (forward this to a million people or you will-have-bad-luck/die/get-cancer/never-find-love/etc. that used to be all over the internet? Yeah, not from me! Anyway.

"Challenge: List seven previous blog posts based on various criteria, and then issue the challenge to several other bloggers."

Most Beautiful: I'm
I'm not sure how a blog post can be "beautiful" but luckily I sometimes post pretty pictures so I'll go with I Did Miss My Bed... It's a photo I took in Florida on my trip there.

Most Controversial:
I really don't post anything controversial so I'll have to say How to Not Make Friends at Work because a number of my co-workers could read it and think its about them. But it was actually inspired by someone I no longer work with.

Most Helpful:
I guess the previous choice could have been used for this one but TOO LATE. I also don't post anything particularly helpful but I will choose How to Date a Co-Worker because, as long as you understand that it's entirely sarcastic, it will keep you from making as ass of yourself with a co-worker love interest.

Post Whose Success Surprised:
Last year there was an episode of Psych, where they ate tons of cinnamon pie at some diner. I needed to know what I was missing and made one and posted it and it got an average amount of attention. Until sometime in October when people started searching for variations of "cinnamon pie recipe psych," and "cinnamon festival." "Cinnamon Festival" now has 340 views!

Post I'm Most Proud Of:
I love them all equally! Okay probably not but I don't know if I really have one I'm most proud of over ALL the others. I will chose After Sundown This Thing's a Vampire Magnet. What I like about it was how good the water cooler came out in the picture. You may have seen it more recently in the posts from # 2&3. Yeah I recycle graphic elements so I can get them done faster. Deal with it.

Post That Got Undeserved Attention:
I feel like this is the same as the surprising success one... I'm cheating a little by picking one from my recipe blog but whatever, I'm going with What do You Call Cheese That's Not Yours? It is a simple cheese nachos recipe that's almost not a recipe but got over 400 hits many of which from people searching "chips and shredded cheese." Oh and it all happened in pretty much one day! If anyone knows why the whole US was searching that on that day, please enlighten me!

And that should do it! Feel free to be challenged to do this by me if you want to.

Questions That Haunt Me.

I would just like to know how Taco Bell expects anyone to be able to fit this in their mouth...

Birthday!

No, not my birthday, though that is coming up soon... Today a Happy Birthday goes out to my brother, who as far as I know, doesn't read this! But I made this graphic to post on his wall and I liked how the seal came out and wanted to show it off.

Brother likes seals.

Painting...

I took this class-or-something and believe it or not, my short attention span resulted in these doodles:

one of which inspired this painting:
No, it's not done yet. Obviously. It's also been at least a week since I worked on it. I have trouble focusing. Maybe posting this will encourage me to work on it.

Gettin' Clean

This is what I did at work yesterday...

Before... (click to enlarge, if you dare)
Soaked keys in hot soapy water. Very effective.
Lots of Windex and paper toweling.
After!
What was most disgusting about the gunk trapped in the keyboard... the shocking amount of hair. You'd think people were getting their hair cut over it.

Blog Swap

(reposted... I have my reasons)
Greetings my readers! Today I have quite the treat for you! 20sb created a blog swap for all its members to take part in so today I have a guest blogger for you. I swapped blogs with Kendra and you can read my post  on her blog, Silky Bowties. The theme of the blog swap is "Summer" so we're all writing about something summer related. So enough of my babbling, I give you Kendra!

Hey everyone! I'm Kendra from Silkybowties, taking over Lauren's blog today.
I decided to do this swap through 20sb!
A little about me, I am a 20 year old college student studying Sociology. I commute from home so I can still see my mom every day, and my lovely pup. I work retail, and I have a love/hate relationship with it. I have the best friends in the world, and those who aren't my friends, well...sorry. I love anything active or outdoors. I grew up on a the coast so beaches are my thing.
Moving forward..we are here to talk summer. I'm less than satified with my summer to be honest. I worked a lot as to previous summers I never really worked. That's really the only reason, ha. So now that I am done complaining I will move on to the great parts of my summer!

I didn't go on one vacation.
My brother was a working machine, I worked a lot, mom, well she works night but was busy with the new house all the time..so no time for vacay,

I didn't have a pool..well.
You see, we just bought the house is nov and we did a lot to the house this spring and a new car, so a pool was pushed to the side. I was ok with it since I was never really home, until it got super hot. Then we needed to get creative. So our alternative...
Yea, hold all the curse words, I know you're jealous, and that's okay!

I spent a lot of time at the beach.
Since no pool, we resorted to the beach! Plus my best friend lives right near there so it was always an extra incentive to go so I could see her. This was always fun because we would get the best iced coffee on the way home..mmm

I had a lot of time with family.
My mom and I hung out all the time. Every Thursday was a must, and almost every other day too. We would go anyhwere, beach, fair, just around, or even stay in and have dinner and drinks. My brother came to visit a lot. He's not too far away till nov (he usually lives in North Carolina but is in Connecticut for internship) so whenever he has a few days off he comes to visit. He's the voice of reason, so he's good to have around.

I worked.
I know I said this wasn't good, but some days are great. I got a parking pass through the company (NO MORE PAID PARKING!!) And I also work with one of my good friends so its always a good day when I work with her.

Besides that I just kept busy here are some photos I would like to uncatagorize.
 Fire Pit action
 Best coffee shop view
 Newport Bridge
 My pup.
 Gillette Stadium (Patriots)
Jamestown.
All White Party
 House warming
 Got my second Tattoo
 Those Guys concert
Usher/Akon concert.

So I guess you can say I loved my summer!

Thanks again to Kendra for your post! It was fun getting to know you through this swap!

What I Need is a Becktionary

This is just the week of random crap on my blog but you guys seem to like my random crap so what the hell, right? So for unimportant reasons, I wanted to look up what my name rhymes with. It's disappointing how few there are, and the selection is uber crappy. Nothing really to work with. Foreign is probably the best one. The rest are mostly surnames.

Free Stuff! (Kinda)

Good news everyone! Even though there is no need for such an event, Splenda is still evolving. Instead of just sweetening your beverage, you can now add your choice of fiber, B vitamins, or anti oxidants!

Look how pretty the boxes are.
I know, it's crazy but it's true! Sigh.

Anyway, go here and get a free sample or $2 off coupon!

Searching, Searching, SEARCHING FOR ME!

It's time for.... an elusive appearance of Wildcard Wednesday!!! Yayyyyy! I was checking out my blogger stats last night and as usual, the first thing I look for is where my hits are coming from. A lot of them come from google (which is pretty awesome but rarely results in return readers but such is life) so I scroll down to "search keywords" to see how people are finding me and I enjoyed that someone searched "when donating plasma what fluids do they put back into you" the answer was ACTUALLY in the silly story about me donating plasma! Of course I don't know if they actually read or searched enough to locate the answer.

Another search query was for "what would lorelai gilmore do blog" which my blog is not. I just blogged about Lorelai Gilmore once (or more probably). But now I feel like there needs to BE a "what would lorelai gilmore do" blog, if there isn't one, and I should make it. Or use the idea in some posts from time to time. Maybe if I ever follow through with starting a video blog, not that I've mentioned it here before, but now I have and it's just a thought I have but I'm not sure how I would execute it so who knows. But anyway.... one of my friends who doesn't really watch Gilmore Girls, said she watched it one day last week and that I remind her exactly of Lorelai (my favorite compliment ever). And she was the second person to tell me that. So I feel that I'm the right person for a "WWLGD" blog. We'll see.

Well that's all I have to say. I checked my google analytics for more keyword searches to see if there are any random awesome ones but not really. People pretty much find something related to what they searched for on my site. "christina ricci reference community" had the longest view. That person must have actually read the whole post. They should have it was a damn good post which I put way too much time into for what it was. :P

Ciao bitches! (OMG. I think I just came up with my video blog's catch phrase. No one steal it IT'S MINE!)

Monkey Sheets

With being all sorts of busy lately, I just haven't felt like drawing pictures. But I was inspired to write this post so here it is.

A long time ago, in a galaxy... okay, it was this galaxy... I was dumped. And I was so sad that the girls that lived across the hall in my dorm, who hated me and my friends, felt bad for me. One of them said "Wait! You have to read this book!" and she lent me a book. It's a book of "poems" the author wrote about dealing with her break up/the shitty guy who broke up with her. It was awesome.

Not so long ago, still in this galaxy, my roommate was having boy problems and I gave it (a copy I bought back then cause it was awesome) to her to read. It's been sitting on my nightstand ever since she gave it back because I was going to read it since it's funny at all times and I hadn't read it in years. Still haven't but that's besides the point.

ANNNYWAY.... last night I found myself feeling restless so I made myself some tea and brought it back to my room and put it down on the book. Then quickly picked up my mug because I remembered that it's probably not dry on the bottom. When I picked the book up to dry it off, I opened to a random page for some amusement.

This is the poem I landed on. Enjoy. Then go back to Amazon and buy a copy. You can get a used one for under $3 so what do you have to lose (other than $3)?

I don't have an ex named Mitchell.
"I went on a date with a man
who was so obsessed with primates
that everything in his apartment
was in the shape of a chimpanzee.
Lamps, statuettes, magnets, mugs, stuffed animals.
And, on his bed, sheets with monkeys, on them.
He was 35.
Sheets with monkeys on them.
35
Monkey sheets."

Decisions Decisions

I know that most of you have probably all been to Chic-Fil-A, but there aren't any in my parent's neck of the woods so I hadn't been. Last year one was built in my town and EVERYONE went nuts. It was like... I don't even have a good analogy. But people were way excited. And I heard that it was always busy and I didn't really care one way or another so I never went. Until last week. I went with one of my friends for lunch and was instructed to bring back a bunch of ketchups to work. Why? you ask. So did I. But an adequate description could not be achieved so I had to wait to see when I got there. I picked one up and check it out.

I had to admit it was intriguing. They are three times the size of one packet, and have all these options. You can either tear off the top and squeeze it out or you can peel back the foil and use it for dipping. But I determined that I did not like them.
I hate decisions. Ask anyone. :P
