What? It's a Power Bar.

Welcome to another edition of WHAT'S ON TV? Or I guess I mean Hulu, since some of these are a few weeks old on TV.

I was psyched to see Burn Notice's newest cast member who you might recognize from NBC's Community. You should all know by now how much I enjoy seeing familiar faces on other shows. I like her better on Burn Notice.

This week's episode of Suits was clearly brought to us by Red Bull. Come on people, when it comes to product placement, the word you're looking for is SUBTLE.

I love the logic of this. If I were a guy I would be guilty of the same clothing injustice.

I haven't watched the last oh say 4-5 seasons of Rescue Me, but now that it's in its final season I decided that I want to watch it again.
Snickers does satisfy...

The Lying Game: Not as crappy as I expected. Check it out if you're a girl or if you're a guy who likes girl shows :)

Somebody Has To Stand Up To Those Green Pigs

A few days ago, I was horrified to learn that Spy Kids thinks it's a good idea to bring back smell-o-vision with Spy Kids 4D. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I could have sworn that smell is a sense. Yeah that's what I thought. And for anyone who doesn't know, the 4th dimension is time. We learned that in the third Back to the Future. And maybe also in school but I learned it from Doc Brown. And the best part about it... they're calling it "Aroma-Scope."
Why, Joel McHale? WHY?
Who are the ad wizards who came up with that one? For me, however, the worst thing about this movie is that Joel McHale is in it.  He is so much better than this. And Jessica Alba is somewhat better than it as well.

Oh well, it's probably dumb to be criticizing a kids movie anyway.

So here's What's On Hulu This Week:

Lucky Coincidence

It's the middle of the summer and there's still nothing on TV. Or is there!? This is what I'm watching...

Burn Notice I think this is the best season since the first one. Action and good-looking guys (and girls), this show is fun for the whole family (okay maybe not the kids).

Wilfred is new this Summer. I thought it would be funny and it's actually better than I expected.

White Collar. Just looking at Matt Bomer, why wouldn't you watch the show?

Switched at Birth is of course a little cheesy, I mean it's on the ABCFamily channel, but it's cute and I love it and it stars grown up April Nardini.

I've talked about Pretty Little Liars before and I probably won't stop. It's the best crappy show on TV.

Shows That Make Me Want to Go Outside.

Last week I brought you all the shows you should be watching this Summer.

These are the shows you probably should not be watching.

Franklin and Bash
Yeah Zach Morris is in it but....?

USA Network, I think, has lost it. "It" being it's mind. They have a couple of great shows and then lose it. We don't need 12 crazy shows all at the same time. Let's pick and choose our scripts from now on, okay?

Royal Pains, returning. I just do not understand it's appeal but I guess people are watching it.

Covert Affairs, returning. I thought this show was going to be awesome and it's just not. Her character is supposed to be doing the same job Jason Bourne does... and she's just not.

Suits, premiering. Uhhhhh? I don't know maybe it will surprise me and be awesome.

Necessary Roughness, premiering. See above comment.Oh but it does have the crazy woman from Rescue Me and Max Medina so I'll have to at least give it a chance.

Also, USA Network, you are clever, we get it, let's dial down the show title word play.

What I'll Be Doing All Summer

Summer's great right? Sunny and warm. Awesome movies. Concerts. But all the TV networks are like "yeah, time for a three month vacation." I HATE it. BUT! Thank you cable network original programming! Some of my favorite shows are actually on cable networks that like to air their shows when the other ones are on hiatus.

Brand new! Looks interesting and I'm excited for it because Lea Thompson is awesome and April Nardini (Vanessa Marano) plays her switched daughter. Hopefully she doesn't ruin everything like she did on Gilmore Girls.
June 6 9PM Switched at Birth

I think this is the one I'm most excited about. Action-packed, fun, and how cute is Matt Bomer? I mean really? Also who wouldn't want to watch the new(ish) show with Kelly Kapowski? White Collar is a must-watch!
June 7 9PM White Collar

If you're not watching this show yet, you're missing out. Unless you're a dude. It's only in it's second season so you can catch up quick. They're running a marathon of season one leading up to season two's premiere so there are no excuses.
June 14 8PM Pretty Little Liars

This is another best-show-nobodys-watching. I don't even know what to say about it with out sounding repetitive, just trust me it's awesome. Especially if you're a Bruce Campbell fan.
June 23 Burn Notice

I guess Psych isn't coming back until fall but I wanted to include it in this cable network show post anyway. I don't have a start date or current promo for you, so here's the "webisode" that inspired my car's vanity plate.

Cinnamon Festival

Sorry guys, another dessert this week. I just like them better. I'll do something healthier next week. Also I want to say that as of yesterday I made it to 50 followers!!! I know that is not really that many but I feel like its a milestone worth mentioning.

I was inspired to make this recipe because of this episode of Psych in which Gus and Shawn eat more slices of cinnamon pie than I can count (okay, I could but then I'd have to watch the whole episode, which I don't have time for today).

Looks good right?

Cinnamon Pie
Printable recipe

Ingredients:
1 c. white sugar
1.5 Tbsp flour
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 pinch salt
1 egg, beaten
2 Tbsp melted butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
1.5 c milk
1 unbaked pie crust (10", these are found in freezer section)
Optional: Whipped cream

Procedure:
1) Preheat oven to 400º F
2) In a medium bowl combine sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt.
3) Add beaten egg, butter and vanilla. Mix well.
4) Add milk. Mixture will be very thin, aka "liquid-y".
5) If using the aluminum pie plate it came in, place crust on cookie sheet first. Pour mixture into pie crust and place in oven.
No, I didn't put my crust on a cookie sheet first, that was an after thought.
6) Bake at 400º for 15 minutes then reduce to 350º for an additional 45 minutes.
Will look cooked on top, but pudding like underneath until it sets.
7) Let cool completely to set before serving (I did not do that when I cut the slice in the above picture. I suggest refrigerating). Refrigerate leftovers.
8) If desired, serve with whipped cream!
9) Watch Psych.

Heck Yeah, I Like Postcards!

I spent all of yesterday lounging in bed, catching up on some blog reading and working on mine. And watching NCIS. Thank you USA Network :) . I intend on doing the exact same thing today. It will be glorious. If you're wondering what this scenario looks like, you can refer to the header at the top of the page..

In other news... actually I'm still talking about my blog so... while we're on the subject, I made myself a blog button.

It looks like this:

It can be found somewhere over <-there on the sidebar. You'll have to scroll down a bit because, for now at least, it's at the bottom of my sidebar stuff.

Not all that exciting but it's cute and it fits in with my other blog doodles and I like it. So there. While I was at it I also made on to go on my Tumblr page because the layout, tho I like it, is very empty looking and it looks better now. I will probably change the colors to match the one for my blog button because I like them better but no one but me cares about that so let's move on, shall we?

YESSS!
I started a new project that's not really a project but I don't know what else to call it. It's more like a game. There's this website: Postcrossing which you sign up for, request someone from anywhere in the world to send a postcard and then you send them one and then you get them from other people. HOW MUCH FUN IS THAT?!?!? I found out about this from another blogger but I forgot who it was so if that was you and you read this let me know and I'll give you the props for it.

So if you love getting mail and you love postcards (both of these are true for me) you should give this a try also! Any time my friends go somewhere I tell them to send me a postcard and sometimes that works out. But usually not so this is AWESOME for me.

So far I have only requested some addresses so now I have to go shopping for some postcards so I can send them. I eagerly await the ones I will receive in return!

That's all for your Sunday update of my life. Have a great week!

Update: By reading her blog I found out who I got this idea from:  T and C Bakery. Thanks!

Fairly McBeal

I don't know if anyone read my post announcing my days' themes but if you did, I came up with a good one so I slid "Tumblr" over to Thursday to go with "Twitter" so its now both which will made Thurdays' posts double awesome, and made Tuesday TV day. YAY TV DAY!!!! I don't know why, but I feel like writing about TV doesn't fit into the vibe of what I ultimately want my blog to be, but TV is such a big part of my life that it doesn't make sense to exile it from my blog just yet. Also most of the "themes don't fit in so why be picky about media entering in? Next week there won't be an intro to posts explaining my themes, as much fun as reading that everyday would be... I think maybe I'll make an icon to denote what's happening. Anyway. So stand back and enjoy: TV Tuesday:

Last week I watched the premier of Fairly Legal (USA) and it was about what I expected it to be. Actually it was better because the promos made it look a lot like another USA show that was new this summer, Covert Affairs. Let me step into the way back machine and recap what you didn't miss by not watching Covert Affairs.

Covert Affairs is about the girl from Coyote Ugly, "Annie," being a spy who does work similar to that of Jason Bourne (her job was supposed to be the same as his, which apparently really exists but who cares?). Promos made it look fun and awesome, at least for female viewers, but it was boring, hard to buy into, and didn't feel like anything I'd seen ever in a Bourne movie.  The worst part of this shows pilot was when the actress who played Amber aka "Cut-Throat Bitch" on House, who didn't know Annie was a spy, said the line:"You're like the worst liar. You'd make a terrible spy."  to Piper Perabo (yes I do actually know her name) which was supposed to get a massive laugh. I cringed and wondered what normal, everyday person matches up "liar" with "spy." I personally match up "liar" with "cheating boyfriend" and "spy" with "breaking-into-places-to-retrieve-classified-information person." Am I right or am I right? Either way, back to Fairly Legal...

So promos for Fairly Legal look basically identical to that of Covert Affairs which means they made the show look like it would be fun and awesome. Unlike the disappointment that was the latter, the Fairly Legal pilot was fresh, compelling (as compelling as a show aimed at the female demo can be) and features a feisty female lead that could give Jason Bourne a run for his money in a court-ordered mediation. Oh yeah, she (sorry no, I don't know her name yet and I'm not looking it up) works for her father's law firm as an ex-lawyer mediator. My initial perception is that she's like a zesty Ally McBeal.Yes, I said 'zesty.' I'd say give it a watch if you have time. I mistakenly took the time to watch it on Hulu forgetting that USA would be running it about 12 times a day for the next two weeks. (I watched it again when I found it playing on TV as well). Especially if you loved Ally McBeal, because who doesn't love legal dramadies?

Speaking of Ally McBeal, 5 years late to the party but I just started watching Calista Flockhart's "new" show Brothers & Sisters and it's awesome to see her on TV again... although she may have left the show this season. But I digress. Watch that one if you like Modern Family and Parenthood, but wish they were swooshed into one show and there were less children.

Tune in tomorrow for "Wacky Wednesday"... I'm still not sure what that means... or wait till next week for a, hopefully more focused, less rambling edition of TV Tuesday!
