Peanut Allergy Bitches!

I know, I know, I have been pretty much the worst bloggess ever. I've lost track of how long it's been since I posted. But! I have been really busy with getting a new job (!!!!!) and leaving my soon-to-be old job (!!!) all while working my second job which I am keeping (...) and picking up shifts for the hell at it at my current job. Being a workaholic is exhausting. And all the chaos of changing jobs has made it hard for me to really focus on anything. Even this post is a struggle to focus on so lets make it quick.

No new recipes unfortunately, I really haven't had the focus to do something like cooking food. I'm bummed at myself for this but whatcha gonna do?

Other than that nothing else is new. Oh! I *decided* to buy a townhouse! I'm not entirely sure that it is even feasible but I will keep you all updated on that and maybe inspire some of my readers to become home owners as well! Feel free to ask me any questions you have on the process, I am happy to enlighten you (or tell you that I don't have all the answers).

Still? I Just Joined.

Hey everyone! Not a lot interesting this week. Worked a lot. Hung out with some friends and procrastinated too much so I not only didn't post a recipe yesterday, but also didn't do it today. And didn't either upload my pictures ahead of time or bring them with me so I can't do it now from work. Whoops. I'll just save it for next week I guess.

I did decide that I should start a catering company. Which, the more I think about about it, is way more complicated than just making a bunch of food and serving it. But I really like the idea in theory so I *want* to give it a shot...? We'll see. However, I did make a logo for my "company" because that's something within my grasp to do right away. I can't figure out why it looks kinda familiar to me, like I got the idea from something else. If any of you know, tell me so I can change it.

Also, If you know anyone in the Central PA area who want's to hire someone new to the biz please refer me! I will have lower prices until I'm more confidant in my ability to take on such a task.

I decided to make myself one at home instead of hitting up Starbucks the other day and thought about how a bunch of people probably have espresso makers and don't quite know how to use it! Since I have been a "professional" barista, I thought I would enlighten my subscribers and Google searchers.

2012

HAPPY NEW YEARRRRRR! Welcome all to 2012! Personally, the even years seem to go better than the odd ones so I am psyched! I would celebrate by watching 2012 but it's terrible and its about the end of the world, sorta. So instead I'm celebrating with this blog post and by being at work! ahhhH!!!!

And if you suggest seeing that "New Year's Eve" or whatever it is movie, I will find you and kill you just for suggesting it. Seriously, what were the ad wizards thinking on that one?

Stupid Runaway Macy's Floats

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I had a nice few days visiting friends/family in Jersey. Oh yeah so sorry about totally lying about writing a post for Thursday. I actually did write it but didn't get around to doing the illustrations. I'll try to do it for this week. I hope everyone got a chance to check out the Thanksgiving layout since I worked for hours 10s of minutes on it!

You Forgot to Wipe Your Feet!

Nothing interesting really happened this week. I did finally delve into the wild world of animated gifs. While working on my screen shots for tomorrow's post, some of them just had too many shots to stack in one images. So I Googled "gif maker" and voila! So you can look forward to their debut tomorrow along with some regular ones. Just a heads up, I have about a million of them.

 That brings us to this week's recipe! I actually made this a while back as a guest post and I'm pretty sure I posted about it here back then too. But I decided to post the full recipe on my blog for the heck of it and for anyone who missed it. Also there's now a "printable" version.

I Don't Want to Be a Pirate

Actually I do want to be a pirate... However....

Pretty standard week. Worked a lot, watched TV a lot, did nothing a lot... BUT I did create a Halloween version of my blog (for those of you reading in a reader, I suggest you go to the actual page to see the brilliance). Here's something to entice you:

So anyway. In other Lauren news... I was creating a "Do All the Things" meme image and  was struggling with writing letters with a my laptop touch pad. I wondered if there's a Hyperbole and a Half font out there. Since I presumed that there isn't I wondered how fonts are actually made. Software probably right? Well I Googled the shit out of it it briefly and found a site with step by step instructions and what software to use.

I may create a Hyperbole and a Half font as well but FIRST I am making a blog you're about to read font! Yes, I'm making a font that's my "painstakingly frustrating letter writing with a mouse and or laptop touchpad" "handwriting."

I'm excited for if I'm successful because it will be way easier to put text on my pictures. I suppose I could just use an already created font, but where's the fun in that? So far I've made "a," "b," and "c." It's gonna take a while.

And if I make a Hyperbole and a Half font, be prepared for piles of Do All the Things meme images. Though I probably wouldn't post many on here. By the way, anyone who wants to start a blog you're about to read meme... I will LOVE YOU FOREVER!

I'm a Winner!

This week was kinda boring. One exciting thing that happened was that Kirsti from A Quick Succession of Busy Nothings celebrated her one year blogiversary and had a givaway to celebrate it. She had a drawing for three really cool things....

 

  and IIIIIII won the kangaroo cookie cutter I wanted!

 So to my few real-life friends who read this: get ready for some kangaroo cookies!!! Also happy blogiversary to Kirsti!

 OH YEAH! I actually also saw Jerry Seinfeld live which was super fun.

And that was about all aside from the party I went to that became not so much a party and more of several-people-hanging-out. But that was fun and there were cupcakes.

So what is going on in my little world? Actually a couple of interesting things...

First I was hired by my first official client to design blog graphics for dadtolibbs.com. He was referred to me when he saw and liked the header I made for Post Modern Talko.

I made him these two buttons! And while your marveling at my awesomeness, check out his blog! (And current giveaway)

I'm also going to be working on a header for his blog when I get the time to do it. If anyone else is interested in getting some graphic items for their blog (or anything else) go here.


Next up, look what I did the other day!

I'm a painting!

And its for sale on ebay if any one's interested. I'm gonna do some more in different sizes and characters and hope that they sell. I might open an etsy shop for them if I manage to make any kind of profit. And if any one here wants a specific character, I might be inclined to create it for you.

Okay, that's enough of me trying to sell you all stuff (not my original intention, it just kinda happened). Here's a recipe!

Peanut Butter Chai Cookies

Traditional peanut butter cookies with some chai tea mix and white chocolate chips for some gourmet style!

Use chunky peanut butter if you want peanut chunks in them too.
