Naughty Naughty Kool-Aid
I've always been pretty much a non-fan of Family Guy. It's just so damn stupid so much of the time. I do like Stewie and Brian though. And I LOVE a lot of the pop culture references.
My favorite is the recurring Kool-Aid Man. This is only the first of about 5.
You know what? Fuck it. Here's some more.
Okay enough of that.
Outsourced. Pretty meh on a weekly basis. Dedrich Badger is usually pretty good though. Makes me miss The Drew Carey Show. Kinda. Let me rephrase: he makes me remember The Drew Carey Show.
I don't know how I don't talk about Archer more... probably because it wasn't until a few weeks ago that I subscribed it to on Hulu. I just started watching it this year and its a-MAZING! (If you saw the below episode you'll get that). But no really, watch it.
As a British person with British teeth, I never tire of a good British-teeth joke.
Phil Dunphy strikes again.

You saw the ad? You want both of them? I guess that makes sense if you're trying to flip one.
Okay just a couple more things:
Yay Paul Reiser is going to be back on TV, it's been WAY too long. But man did he get old. This is pretty exciting for me because a) Mad About You will probably always be my favorite show of all time and 2) ... I don't really have a two but Mad About You fans will get the reference.
Happy Endings premiered yesterday. So far I like it but I don't know if I can really recommend it or not. I'm pulling for it because a) Kim Bauer is in it and more importantly 2) Jo aka Denise from Scrubs is also in it.

If I Wasn't Lorelai Gilmore I Would Be Gil...less
First some news. I was a guest blogger for Ashely over at After Nine to Five today. I did a DIY scrapbook page which is AWESOME. Check it and the rest of her blog out cause it's tons of fun!
Also, this week I was chosen to be the Featured Blogger on Colorful Rant's of a Fed Up Sista. I got this badge to prove it:
Awesome blog if you aren't scared off by her crass, honest, in-your-face writing style. I love it. You should too, just don't say you weren't warned.
Now onto the topic at hand.
This week (and then some) on TV!:
Moving along.
Conan. Doesn't stop being awesome. Not for a moment.
Now if only my sitcoms would come back already.
To go along with this weeks theme of actors I loved on other shows, I'm gonna wrap this here post with one more:

Last week...
We had the return of Secret Life of the American Teenager. I have one word for their writing staff: pronouns. It's astounding how many sentence subjects are reiterated 4-8 times in 4-8 sentences even if it's between two different people. Painful. Example: "Adrien is going to have my baby" "I know Adrien is going to have your baby, and because Adrien is having your baby you need to do the right thing" "I know I have to do the right thing because Adrien is going to have my baby." Now that is not an actual quote but it could be. And you see what I mean. I was seriously hoping that I would be able to just not watch it and not long for a lobotomy every Monday night but alas, with nothing else on Mondays curiosity of what happens to the characters has gotten the best of me. It's going to be a long season. Two more words: acting lessons.

This week...
AMC's new crazy-insane-fucking-around-with-shit style show, The Killing.
For those of you not watching, AMC likes to push boundaries with it's
original programming more than any other cable network and somehow they
get away with it. Well there are probably people up in arms about their
shows but since I haven't been in telecommunications classes since 2007,
so I haven't heard anything about it. ANYWAY. Pretty entertaining but
fairly predicable. Which doesn't bother me because when I can guess
what's going to happen, I feel smart.

Anyone else remember Ryan Renyolds on Two Guys and A Girl?
Conan. Doesn't stop being awesome. Not for a moment.
![]() |
"This guy's huge!" (Conan himself is 6'4" and loves finding dudes who are taller than him)
Parenthood, good-not-great, I guess I want it to be funnier but it's not really supposed to be. But Lauren Graham was lovely as always. Oh! Huge pet peeve of mine: people who refer to "the prom" simply as "prom." Am I the only one who thinks people sound retarded when they say "I can't wait for prom" or "I'm going to wear high-heels on prom." ? (Oh yeah also people who say "on prom" instead of "to prom," even worse.) Just think about how much more right it sounds to say "I'm going to wear high-heels to the prom). So you all should agree, and start using "the" when referring to...the prom, and you will be a better person for it. </rant>

For anyone who doesn't know Lorelai Gilmore's real name.
Lights Out wrapped up it's debut season on FX, home to the awesomeness that is Always Sunny, The League, Rescue Me, and Archer (watch all of these). First I have to say "uh oh" But then again, who's surprised really? Best worst line: "Save that rage for the stage; the mojo for the Dojo." Weird, I thought they we're boxing, not karate fighting. I half expected Ralph Macchio to show up. Okay not really. Would have been AMAZING though. I have less issue with comparing the boxing ring to a stage since there's certainly a bit of pageantry going on. At least up until the fighting actually starts. Oh and worst dress goes to... Michelle from 24:
![]() |
What costumer thought THAT was a good dress to put her in?
Mr. Sunshine. My favorite episodes are the ones Jose Garcia is in. Especially because Matthew Perry's character keeps calling him Bobert. Which, btw, is what "Bob" should actually be short for. This week, funny as ever and we got to see the girl from Party Down...not that ANY of you watched that. You may know her better as Janice Ian.

I too have keep my face on the front of my head.
Perfect Couples. I know what you're thinking, "what?" Yeah. Kinda wish I never started watching this one but it has The Waitress from Always Sunny, and it's in the NBC Thursday night line up, so I had to. I have a tendency to watch shows because someone I like is on it or not watch one that has someone I don't like. I pretty much only watch Rizzoli and Isles because Kate from NCIS is on it and every time I catch a Zeva episode of NCIS I spend the whole hour missing Kate.

That's Kate, and oh look! Jan from The Office.
Now if only my sitcoms would come back already.

Chuck Full O Awesome
I feel like I'm the only one still watching Chuck. Mind you, I feel like I'm the only person who ever watched it. Oh and my mom. And after I started watching it again from the beginning (sometimes there are too many hours in my work day) I wonder how everyone isn't watching it. Action, comedy, hot blonde girls, Adam Baldwin, Captain Awesome and of course the lovable, nerdy protagonist. It's like this show was created just for me. What more could you ask for? Today I bring you, some highlights from episode 1 and urge you to start watching pronto. In case you don't know, "pronto" is Italian for "you should listen to me."

Me too.

I almost wish Matt Bomer was still on Chuck instead of White Collar. Almost.

Awesome-sauce
This week in television... for me... Pretty Little Liars wrapped up the season and something ACTUALLY happened. To avoid a spoiler, I'll just say I am NOT going to miss him. Parks and Rec was more than awesome, it was awesome-sauce. I don't get why Bones and Seeley aren't together yet, now that what's-her-name is gone. Don't miss her either. I did like her when she was on that episode of House when she played a rape victim. Community was it's usual level of awesomeness. And that was about it for my shows.
I also hate when snow days are ruined by murder. That's all for today, now I'm going to go figure out what's so great about mini horses.

Another Day at the Buymore
Ok world, readers, etc. Here's the deal. I'm going thorough something personal right now, all of a sudden, which I am not going to share on here, but I've determined that I'm going to have to take a break. That's probably the opposite of what I should do but since there is supposed to be comedy found here, I don't think that will work out. I have something for you today and a few recipes ready for you but I don't know how much I'll be around other than that. And I don't know for how long. Or I could be wrong and because of the extra time on my hands maybe I'll come straight back. But I don't think so.
So here's a cute moment from Chuck which I know no one else watches but I still love it. And you don't get to choose who you love.
I LOVED Final Fantasy II.

The Dirtiest My Blog Will Ever Be
I seriously laughed out loud at this one. I know House is a complete asshole but sometimes, so am I, and I love his sarcasm-riddled lines that's second only to mine. But you just can't anticipate the drunken immature statement, "heh heh... My head is on your vagina." Cuddy, as you can see, was less than amused.
I had no intention to ever watch Glee. But then NPH was on and I wanted to see him sing after I loved him in Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog. That episode was actually decent. The rest usually aren't. But there is usually at least one LQTM (laughing quietly to myself) moment that's worthy of quoting on one of the social media sites.
Gweneth, that was awesome. And ew ew ew ew ewww! Mental picture I did not need.
Regardles, like Joel McHale's character, Jeff Winger on NBC's Community, I too don't understand the appeal.
Can you tell that this post is designed to get a bunch of keyword hits? Let's hope it works!

Taking a Break
Aside from during the Super Bowl, most people hate commercials. Not me. I see them as another source of entertainment, a time out from whatever show your watching. They allow you to run to the bathroom, grab a snack, throw in a load of laundry. They let me continue to multi-task at my maximum levels. But back to them as a source of entertainment. Once in a while I stumble upon one that I thoroughly enjoy. Sometimes even so much so that I get excited when they come on. McDonald's recently put this one out advertising its Caramel Mocha beverages. I just love it. There's just something about choreographed rhythmic hand drumming that makes me smile.
Unfortunately, these gems are a minority in the world of commercials. They are few and far between in a world of marketing morons and local advertising (those ones are the worst... except for the ones that I made). A real groaner I was unfortunate enough to see earlier this week was for Britney Spears' new perfume. So riddle me this. The line she says is "I chose my own destiny" so my brain says "I know what the name of this product is. It has to be 'Destiny' it just makes sense." But no, why would these people write a commercial that will resonate in the minds of the viewers? It's not called destiny. And now my brain hurts from watching it again.
(I'm sorry.)

Actually It's "MISS Chanandeler Bong"
Chandler's back and he's more Chandler than ever. Chandler had always been my favorite. Funny, sarcastic, self-deprecating. You know, exactly like me. Of course then he had to go an marry Monica and become not very funny, not very sarcastic, and just kinda boring. Bitch ruined him! Until now.
Matthew Perry's back on TV (again, hopefully for more than that partial season of Studio 60 NBCancelled didn't want to keep around), and it's like I never stopped watching him. Might be due to my unnatural liking of 17 Again, which I've seen WAY more times than I should have. And Allison Janney's character isn't bad either. It's rare for me to not be put off by such blatant drug use, so I was impressed at how much I like her.

Fairly McBeal
I don't know if anyone read my post announcing my days' themes but if you did, I came up with a good one so I slid "Tumblr" over to Thursday to go with "Twitter" so its now both which will made Thurdays' posts double awesome, and made Tuesday TV day. YAY TV DAY!!!! I don't know why, but I feel like writing about TV doesn't fit into the vibe of what I ultimately want my blog to be, but TV is such a big part of my life that it doesn't make sense to exile it from my blog just yet. Also most of the "themes don't fit in so why be picky about media entering in? Next week there won't be an intro to posts explaining my themes, as much fun as reading that everyday would be... I think maybe I'll make an icon to denote what's happening. Anyway. So stand back and enjoy: TV Tuesday:
Last week I watched the premier of Fairly Legal (USA) and it was about what I expected it to be. Actually it was better because the promos made it look a lot like another USA show that was new this summer, Covert Affairs. Let me step into the way back machine and recap what you didn't miss by not watching Covert Affairs.
Covert Affairs is about the girl from Coyote Ugly, "Annie," being a spy who does work similar to that of Jason Bourne (her job was supposed to be the same as his, which apparently really exists but who cares?). Promos made it look fun and awesome, at least for female viewers, but it was boring, hard to buy into, and didn't feel like anything I'd seen ever in a Bourne movie. The worst part of this shows pilot was when the actress who played Amber aka "Cut-Throat Bitch" on House, who didn't know Annie was a spy, said the line:"You're like the worst liar. You'd make a terrible spy." to Piper Perabo (yes I do actually know her name) which was supposed to get a massive laugh. I cringed and wondered what normal, everyday person matches up "liar" with "spy." I personally match up "liar" with "cheating boyfriend" and "spy" with "breaking-into-places-to-retrieve-classified-information person." Am I right or am I right? Either way, back to Fairly Legal...
So promos for Fairly Legal look basically identical to that of Covert Affairs which means they made the show look like it would be fun and awesome. Unlike the disappointment that was the latter, the Fairly Legal pilot was fresh, compelling (as compelling as a show aimed at the female demo can be) and features a feisty female lead that could give Jason Bourne a run for his money in a court-ordered mediation. Oh yeah, she (sorry no, I don't know her name yet and I'm not looking it up) works for her father's law firm as an ex-lawyer mediator. My initial perception is that she's like a zesty Ally McBeal.Yes, I said 'zesty.' I'd say give it a watch if you have time. I mistakenly took the time to watch it on Hulu forgetting that USA would be running it about 12 times a day for the next two weeks. (I watched it again when I found it playing on TV as well). Especially if you loved Ally McBeal, because who doesn't love legal dramadies?
Speaking of Ally McBeal, 5 years late to the party but I just started watching Calista Flockhart's "new" show Brothers & Sisters and it's awesome to see her on TV again... although she may have left the show this season. But I digress. Watch that one if you like Modern Family and Parenthood, but wish they were swooshed into one show and there were less children.
Tune in tomorrow for "Wacky Wednesday"... I'm still not sure what that means... or wait till next week for a, hopefully more focused, less rambling edition of TV Tuesday!
