I Hope Not Sporadically

Two things today. First: Something Borrowed. Dear John Krasinski, I love you...

Since The Office started, I had always hoped to find "my Jim." Till I realized that I had, except I was Karen, not Pam. "Turns out it's an easy gig when your boss isn't an idiot and your boyfriend isn't in love with somebody else." But that was a long time ago. And I still love John Krasinski. Therefore, no matter how bad this movie looks, I have to see it. Can't be as bad as License to Wed. I mean, yikes. But at least Mandy Moore didn't sing in that one... I think.

So I'll tell you what I like about Tumblr... and no, I'm not going to list why I like it as a social media platform. I like when I get a follower (this happens sporadically but not the point), and Tumblr sends me an email. And the email doesn't just say such-and-such is following you, the end. The email contains a short-and-sweet interjection and signs off with "Love, TumblrBot" How adorable is that?!?! I know, I'm a huge nerd. Anyway. That's all for today!

P.S. Every time I use the word "sporadically" I think back to when I learned the word from Clueless. I also think of Clueless every time I "totally pause" for a stop sign or when the setting in a TV show or movie is in "the Valley."

Go Science

I just want you guys to know that, since I forgot to do this before I left work Sunday, that this post took extra work to be done and it's all so I don't let any of you down. At home my options to do Tuesday posts is to a) take a full screen shot on my PC and then crop in Paint (yuck) OR today I got my old-as-hell Mac charged up and used it to do them instead. If you don't have a Mac you have no idea what I'm talking about so just take my word for it. Anyway, now I remember why I was so eager to buy a new computer last summer when my old PC died (I killed it actually) and all I had was my G4 Powerbook (they stopped making Powerbooks). In short, my new Lenovo ThinkPad was a worthy investment. Moving along.

@tommyjohnagin

Stand-up comedian. Hilarious. Was totally robbed last year on Last Comic Standing. Check him out in this here video and on his website. And follow him on twitter if you like comedy and who doesn't?

Now in Tumblr world, I don't have anyone new you should be following so I'm just going to show off that I made this "screen-shot-scene" and it's been reblogged and "liked" all over the place. There's nothing like piles of useless emails from Tumblr to make you feel poplular. Oh and if you wanted to find me on Tumblr, since I've never actually posted it on here, this is me. It's kind of like my TV Thursday posts except everyday and with less text.
That's right, 277 notes since last Friday and counting.

I know what you're thinking. And yes, the name of my Tumblr page is almost as brilliant as the name of this blog. I don't know how I do it either.

I'll try to find some new awesome people to follow for next week.

Coffee and Legos

First and foremost I have to tell you that today is an extra special exciting day because Katherina over at 100 Miles Highway (you may remember she was a guest here a couple weeks ago), is hosting ME on her blog! Go there now and see my photo tour of my trip to Japan.

Now, onto Tumblr/Twitter Tuesday!

You may not be interested in random Starbucks news but they also tell you about any promotional events going on that you WILL NOT want to miss.

Keep Cool My Babies

Even if you don't love him like I do, Conan and Team Coco are definitely worth the follows. Quality comedy inside! I'm starting to think my Conan obsession is getting out of hand.

@ConanOBrien

Team Coco on Tumblr

I scoured the internet and could not find a clip of Conan saying "keep cool my babies." Oh well, sucks to be anyone who will never be able to understand this post's title.

Stay Classy for Breakfast

I have almost no way to make titles for these that make any actual sense. I like em.

@TheFray

I unfollowed most of the bands I was following because they didn't have anything good to say. But The Fray sprinkles in fun every once in a while and doesn't barrage me with band information I don't want. I've never been to Chipotle but I gather it's a big deal that they no longer use a silver wrapper.

I've only seen this movie like 1.5 times and this is still awesome. I love the plaid circle.

What's Better than Bruce Campbell and Caburry Eggs? Answer: Nothing.

Holy fuck-balls. [Sorry if that offends anyone.] I will be making these so soon! Watch for how that goes on my recipe day (Friday).

Tumblr/Twitter Not-Tuesday

2nd late post in a week. Sorry to anyone if you noticed. Everyone who didn't notice, well you should pay more attention to me because, well, why wouldn't you. I've been a little off my game for the past week and will do my best to do that less or not at all. At least not twice in one week :) Also, if you notice that I have links to things that have nothing to do with seemingly anything, (such as the one above), That's just my way of taking you with me on the tangent filled journey that is my train of thought. And I thought it might add some fun for you guys!  Moving along, I bring you, this weeks: Tumblr/Twitter Tuesday.

Just like a lot of things such as blogging and other stuff I can't specifically think of right now, I'm about 5 years late of these newfangled things called podcasts. I blame it on not having an Ipod and my incorrect understanding that you could only listen to them with an Ipod. Or atleast I just never thought there was anything of quality that I would be interested in. That was until comedian Greg Behrendt tweeted about the podcast he does which I fell in love with immediately.
So much randomness, so much self-deprecation, so much hilarity. Available on iTunes of course and also here for direct download. I should warn you that there are a bunch of inside jokes now which can be confusing so I recommend going back to the beginning if you like this week's.

If you like the Gilmore Girls and are Tumblr you must follow:
If you're not on Tumblr, its time to join so you can follow lukesdiner. Nothing but Gilmore Girls picture quotes. It's exactly what my Tumblr feed was missing.  You're welcome.

I "Like" Demetri Martin's Doodles

I follow stand-up comedian @DemetriMartin on twitter, and when he started drawing pictures like this one:
Today's drawing. #demetrimARTin >>>
he started tweeting the links for them. They're pretty awesome so check them out.

I found this:

on Tumblr. They're not real but, holy crap, they should be.  Someone start a petition to get Facebook to get these made. Just think about how useful the "Dislike" one would be for girls when they get hit on in bars. Originally found on 9 gag.

Heck Yeah, I Like Postcards!

I spent all of yesterday lounging in bed, catching up on some blog reading and working on mine. And watching NCIS. Thank you USA Network :) . I intend on doing the exact same thing today. It will be glorious. If you're wondering what this scenario looks like, you can refer to the header at the top of the page..

In other news... actually I'm still talking about my blog so... while we're on the subject, I made myself a blog button.

It looks like this:

It can be found somewhere over <-there on the sidebar. You'll have to scroll down a bit because, for now at least, it's at the bottom of my sidebar stuff.

Not all that exciting but it's cute and it fits in with my other blog doodles and I like it. So there. While I was at it I also made on to go on my Tumblr page because the layout, tho I like it, is very empty looking and it looks better now. I will probably change the colors to match the one for my blog button because I like them better but no one but me cares about that so let's move on, shall we?

YESSS!
I started a new project that's not really a project but I don't know what else to call it. It's more like a game. There's this website: Postcrossing which you sign up for, request someone from anywhere in the world to send a postcard and then you send them one and then you get them from other people. HOW MUCH FUN IS THAT?!?!? I found out about this from another blogger but I forgot who it was so if that was you and you read this let me know and I'll give you the props for it.

So if you love getting mail and you love postcards (both of these are true for me) you should give this a try also! Any time my friends go somewhere I tell them to send me a postcard and sometimes that works out. But usually not so this is AWESOME for me.

So far I have only requested some addresses so now I have to go shopping for some postcards so I can send them. I eagerly await the ones I will receive in return!

That's all for your Sunday update of my life. Have a great week!

Update: By reading her blog I found out who I got this idea from:  T and C Bakery. Thanks!

Blog Post Titles, Like Email Subject Lines, Are Hard.

I'm swapping Tuesday's and Thursday's themes because my schedule will better accommodate them this way.  The 2" of ice I drove to work in an hour ago... SUCKED.

Birbigs' Hand Door Knobs

Today I'm just gonna dive right in. Enjoy!
<---(This was actually a Thursday)

Awesome thing I found on Tumblr:
Article found here.

One day I WILL have these in my home. Or not. Okay probably not but I can still dream. Plus, I'm pretty clumsy so I bet I'd be constantly bruised on my hip bones from walking into them. So maybe not such a good idea.

Awesome thing I found on Twitter:
Mike In A Window

I don't know how I didn't know about before yesterday, but one of my favorite stand-up comedians, Mike Birbiglia, is LIVING in a Macy's storefront for a week promoting Downy's "Clean Sheet Week." Definitely the most amazing thing I've heard in a while. The only thing that's not awesome about this is that it's not happening in a city near me so I can't go knock on the glass like in an aquarium. I might even do it thrice.

That's all for today. The only blog news I have for you is that as you could see up there ^ I did in fact create logos for my themes. I clearly have too much free time. Tomorrow is Recipe Day. I haven't chosen a recipe to feature yet but I promise it will be a doosey.
