Frodo Was a Paranoid Gnome

So even though I have some screen shots for you, I like to cover other media forms from time to time and also had some movie trailers that I wanted to share and/or hate on so here ya go!

And before everyone anyone decides to "correct" me on Frodo's being a hobbit... please don't. If you don't get it, that is just your loss. And there's a photo at the end of the post to help you.

Ghost Rider; Not sure why they made a second one of these... maybe the first one was better than everything I heard about it from everyone.

Albert Nobbs; So what exactly is the appeal in being in a movie that showcases how mannish you are?

I meant to post this weeks, maybe even months now, ago.

I meant to post this months ago.

So, Hollywood, maybe you should space out the two new Snow White movies by more than a couple months...Just sayin...

Mirror Mirror (March 16)

Snow White and the Huntsmen (June 1)

Somebody Has To Stand Up To Those Green Pigs

A few days ago, I was horrified to learn that Spy Kids thinks it's a good idea to bring back smell-o-vision with Spy Kids 4D. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I could have sworn that smell is a sense. Yeah that's what I thought. And for anyone who doesn't know, the 4th dimension is time. We learned that in the third Back to the Future. And maybe also in school but I learned it from Doc Brown. And the best part about it... they're calling it "Aroma-Scope."
Why, Joel McHale? WHY?
Who are the ad wizards who came up with that one? For me, however, the worst thing about this movie is that Joel McHale is in it.  He is so much better than this. And Jessica Alba is somewhat better than it as well.

Oh well, it's probably dumb to be criticizing a kids movie anyway.

So here's What's On Hulu This Week:

Should I Be Worried That We're Opening In Town Where Nobody Lives?

Moooooooooooovies!

After a bit of a hiatus, I got out to the theater and caught a couple of flicks. The first was Bridesmaids which I highly recommend to guys and girls alike. Yeah, I know, "But, Lauren, isn't it a chick flick?" My response: barely. Yeah there's some inevitable girly stuff that goes with a wedding themed movie but seriously it's like the girl version of the Hangover. Only funnier.

Then I saw: Bad Teacher. All I have to say is: don't bother. The trailer is funnier and better than the movie. Unless you're Jason Segal's biggest fan, cause he was the only thing that was funny in it but was only in about 1/2 hr of the whole movie.

That's all the movies I've seen lately but here are some awesome-looking ones COMING SOON! There are no words.

I'll probably see it just cause I like Jesse Eisenberg... And I liked Zombieland.

This is the only one in this post that's not a comedy. Looks super good.

Are there any movies anymore that Jason Bateman ISN'T in? But seriously, I'll see anything Ryan Renyolds is in.

I have to see this just because Charlie is in it. Looks kinda "eh" tho. I'm sure it will be good for some lqtms (laughing quietly to myself) tho.

Maybe You Mopn't

Even with the summer blockbusters I can't wait to see, including Pirates of the Caribbean, the movie I'm most excited for is Zach Braff's new movie: The High Cost of Living. It's not in theaters (except for literally one in LA) but it's available to "rent" on iTunes, Amazon, and Vudu (whatever that is). I'm hoping it will get released in theaters but if not I'll probably wait till I can get a DVD. I don't believe in renting movies digitally... or at all really (no, I do not use Netflix).

P.S. I miss Scrubs.
P.P.S. Garden State rules.

Here's the trailer. Be as excited as I am.

I feel so mop.

Chill Out, Kirk, We're Here for the Movie

Good evening world! I almost didn't do a post today out of laziness/lack of a post idea. Then I remembered something I wanted to post about! One of my real life friends, Mike,(that's right, I have [at least] one!) has started his own blog! Since my blogging (and nagging) is what motivated him to finally start it, (he had thought about it way long ago but hadn't made it happen), I feel responsible for the success of his blog and hence am plugging it here. He also said he wants to guest post for me sometime so you can all look forward to that!

"thespotlightreview" is a movie review blog. To quote his blog:
"The reason my blog is called The Spotlight Review is that along with reviews of movies, TV shows, etc.  I want to put a spotlight (pun intended) on a movie or TV show that I want to specifically recognize.

"Now most of the time it will probably be a positive reason, although at times I might want to highlight a movie so horrible that I just can’t restrain from commenting."

So there you have it. Any cinephiles (and everyone else too), go now and subscribe! And he won't be boring and review the latest hit movie that you just saw last week, he's bringing you awesome movies that you might not have heard of otherwise. And he has good taste, in my opinion.

Sorry for the squeezed video, couldn't find a better one.
